The Artist,  Judy Morgan,  teaches classes in "Plein Air" oil and watercolor.  The classes offered accommodate the beginning art students,  as well as those seeking professional instruction at the advanced level.  The classes are primarily taught , " en plein air ",  outside and on location.

All students receive a course description,  an outline of instruction,  a materials list,  and a schedule of various locations where the " plein air " classes meet to paint.  The locations include high mountain lakes,  red rock canyon sites,  valley views and western river motifs.

Most classes are taught out of the Artist's own,  personal,  Ponderosa Studio.

The Artist,  Judy Morgan,  also instructs painting workshops periodically.  These workshops are offered locally,  as well as,  abroad.  Her favorite painting workshop destinations are Italy,  southern France and Mexico.  Upcoming workshops will be listed below on the Classes and Workshops Calendar.

2009 - Workshops

Come explore the beauty of San Carlos and paint " en plein air " with Judy Morgan,  an accomplished painter from Durango, CO.  For three exciting days,  we will meet in various locations that will include beaches (water and boats),  mountains,  and in-town street scenes.  We will concentrate on simplifying the scene and looking at the shapes rather than the objects themselves.  Emphasis will be placed on capturing light and shadow,  values and composition.  Each class will begin with a demo and end with a critique.  Students should come prepared to paint outside and bring their own materials.
